I used to love ambien so much....until I took a knife in my sleep and slashed my left forearm so bad I had to get 48 stitches in 5 different cuts, after that it wasn't so cool. Did it all in my sleep don't remember doing it and didn't wake up while doing it, woke up with my arm a bloody mess and the knife still in my hand.

Sounds like what seroquel does for me

Ambien does nothing for me other than make me kind of tired. I can stay awake on it and rather alert. Not anything great. I don't like sleep meds as a general rule but out of the RX ones I have tried I liked Lunesta better than Ambien... Benadryl & Melatonin works better in my opinion.

I take Seroquel, but I don't get tired off of it...

I did things in my sleep that I didn't remember. Like eating, and the only way I know this is becuase I would wake up with food in the bed with me..

I ordered stuff off the net without knowing it. Good thing I didn't drive!!!

I don't see how you can deal with Benadryl on the long term like that, amal. For me, I can use it for a night or two and be ok........maybe, but any longer than that and it causes me to get drowsy, but I can't fall asleep or stay asleep. I have whole body spasms all night long, wake up Wolfie with it, keep waking up thinking something is horribly wrong like a fire or something, and if I continue to take it for too much longer I will start to get to the point where it only makes me drowsy and confused, but not NEARLY sleepy enough to go to bed. It actually kinda fucks me up more. You are blessed that you can use it like that. I wish I could.

Oh I never use it long term anymore - and yea I did get twitches from it when I did use it more regularly - like my eye would twitch... I am soo bad about using sleep type meds regularly. I despise them. (this is the kind of med I am not compliant with)

OMG Once I took it and then my friends unexpectedly came by and took me out for a night of partying. It was awesome! Ok, so I don't recommend doing that, but still, I had to share!

Benadryl gives me restless legs.

I love Ambien CR. It put you to sleep and keeps you asleep through the night. Just like the commercial says. The first layer put you to sleep, the second layer keeps you asleep. I have trouble will falling asleep and staying asleep.

One of the things I am totally looking forward to now that my husband has a job and we will have INSURANCE again.

Ok-extreme poverty is walking around without insurance. My husband has cancer but couldn't get help. My diabetes and HBP has really been acting up not to mention the mental stuff. I've heard of the experiments where people go live with the homeless for a few days. You don't even have to leave your bed, just cut off your insurance and you will get an experience.

when i lived in a homeless camp there was this one lady, a teacher, who would come stay with us. she would bring stuff sometimes, like coffee, etc. People think she's crazy for doing it because she's got a nice house, hybrid car, and tenure at her teaching job. But she does it for support, activism.

My current sleep regimen is Clonodine, Klonopin and Trazadone with the mix I get about 4 hrs straight sleet.....I'm a raging insomniac and it sucks.

I have definitely had some interesting moments on Ambien before. I haven't done anything dangerous though. The other night I was sobbing and asking my friend where my legs, arms, the air was. I don't remember a lot of it but apparently it was pretty funny. Even with stuff like that I still love it. I went through 13 otc and Rx drugs before I found something that put me to sleep and kept me asleep.

I have been having insomia lately too. The doctors are scared to put me on "ambien, lunesta etc" because of my reaction to ambien.

So I take klonopin, and 200 mg of thorazine to sleep. fun times. keeps me down for about 3 to 4 hours.

Ambien gives me terrible amnesia. I'm worried I'll go out driving sometime. I can usually fall asleep ok but it tends to wear off about 1 am or so.
