I just got finished up seeing a new pdoc today and I have to say that this man, after years and years of many pdocs, meds and bs, is the most amazing pdoc I have ever seen!!
We first got my meds straightened out and made a change in that I will wean down on the Amoxapine and titrate slowly up on the Zoloft to treat the agoraphobia/anxiety, that took all but 15 min. Then he says to me" oh they scheduled you for an hour long appt....that will give us some time to TALK!!!!!!!
I about fell out of the chair when he said that to me. He couldn't stop telling me how personable I was....wanted to hear all about my history with thyroid problems...asking tons of questions along the way! We talked about everything from thyroid probs to sewing machines and back again!!!! Smile
I only wish there were more of this kind of humbled and caring pdocs in the world today and that everyone had a chance to meet one!
I am so freaking happy I can't say it enough....FINALLY someone who cares and who WANTS to relate to his patients.

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.

LOVES & HUGS
I think the main thing to my happiness about this new pdoc appt is that I felt very validated as a human being....as me, Deborah Ann.......and that is just priceless!!!
Kudos!!!
I have a Pdoc like that.
He's interested in my life, not just monitoring my meds.
We have graduated from 15 minute sessions , to 1 hour sessions . He also is now acting as my therapist.
I have learned and gained so much insight into my life and behaviours, choices I've made in the past, and ways to do things better, differently .
My Pdoc and I often discuss how awful it is , when bipolar people do not have a working relationship with their pdoc's .
A good Pdoc can turn your life around !
