Hi:) I was diagnosed with bipolar a few years ago and am medicated and see a psychiatrist. I have never really understood if I am experiencing what they desribe as "racing thoughts" or not....I go through stages of having full on ideas about something ...most recently I deided I was going to have a baby through donor insemination....I felt SO sure and excited about the idea, the next day I was over it and decided that I was going to be a born again christian and had to go to church. I believed and really thought that God had chosen me to be saved. I felt SO strongly that this was what I had to do and the idea of babies was gone and forgotten. I am excited that I am no longer a lesbian (have been so for 10 years) and tell people at work that I have been saved by God....Then the church thing is over and I am all excited and intensly interested in adopting 2 kittens...I research, constantly look online for kittens to adopt..then within a day or 2 Im over it and have decided Im going to turn my book case into a mansion and get pet rats and I think its the best idea ever....With each of these ideas comes constant thought about it. With the Church thing, i was singing hymns in my head, visualising crosses, thinking about church and jesus 24/7 ...with the book case idea I had it all planned out in my head within minutes problem solving everything how I will make it, it will be fantasti andpet rats the answer to my prayers! lol
I would desribe my experience as "constantly changing my mind" is this what "racing thoughts" are? I would LOVE to know your thoughts:)

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

I believe you are manic and that is what is causing you to have the
"ideas" you are having. You should probably call your pdoc and see if He/she can adjust your meds so the mania will calm down.
Everyone's experience is different, but I can only explain my experience with racing thoughts: complete preoccupation with multiple trains of thought, that won't quiet down no matter how much I try to push them out of my mind. Lithium and Lamictal help for me, but in the most serious cases, Klonopin quiets the thoughts down for a few hours (I only take it as needed - usually no more than one pill every two to four days).
Best of luck!
Big hug for you..x
