Abilify was a nightmare for me. Restlessness, anxiety, paranoia, now I'm on Depakote and it seems to be better. Hope it works for you though, a lot of people do great on it. (hugs)

Abilify, in conjunction with Wellbutrin, has worked well for me, but I have to take just 10mg dose or I get too restless and anxious.

I started Abilify too about 4 weeks ago. The restlessness got more prevalent as I was gradually going up in dosage. I started at 2mg went to 5mg and now I am at 10mg 5 twice a day and the restlessness is less noticeable. I went though a ton of different medications to help with the restlessness ..Benadryl, Lorzapam, Klonopin, Cogintin and I choose Lorzapam. I need a sleep aid too so that why the Lorzapam works best for me. The reason I stick with Abilify even through restlessness it is because my moods are balanced and I feel great. You have to hang in there with this drug, it's been almost a month for me and the side affects are just tapering out. :) Could be sooner for you since you have been experimenting with all the drugs to help restlessness like I did. Hang in there with this one to give it a chance to prove if it will work for you. :)

BTW I take in conjunction with 600mg of Lithium.

I'm gonna give it a try and cross my fingers. I'm a little nervous since I already have some bad anxiety issues and it sounds like this stuff can make it worse. Hopefully the increase in Depakote will keep the anxiety from being to big of an issue. I like hearing about it from people who've actually taken it. Thank you all for telling me about your experiences with it.

I would recommend getting on a anxiety lowering drug if you start to have anxiety. I defiantly did but I was already prone to is and I take 80mg Propronol (inderal) too.

I mean not recommended but talk to your doctor about it. Inderal is a anxiety med.

I really liked Abilify but it gave me horrible insomnia so I had to stop taking it.....

It seems like Abilify effects me differently. It actually calmed my anxiety. I'm not taking it anymore because my insurance doesn't pay for it, but overall it was a good drug.

It did kill my sex drive too.

I absolutely love Abilify, I've only been on it for 4 months but this is the best I have felt in a while. I also take Lamictal and clonazepam and this works great for me!

well, 6 months but for the first 2 it was a lower dose, once it was increased it's been a Godsend.

It has done wonders for me too. I take twenty mg once a day. The only problem I have had is the price. My copay was $100. But my wonderful pdoc gave me a card that's supposed to cut my copay to - get this- free for the frst month and then twenty five for the next twelve months

Abilify is fantastic.
The only problem is the side effects. I have tremors in my hands and one leg. Im not sure what Im going to do since I have been good for so long. Im afraid to go off of it.
It really is a catch 22.
