Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
For example, when I took Abilify several years ago, I started on 2mg only, but by the end of two weeks I was high as a kite. I am bipolar 1, and also seem to be affected by certain meds that don't bother others, so it caused Lots of issues at first.
I didn't stay that way, but I did get antsy and anxious after a few months. I've been "told" that a lower dose of Abilify is more likely to do that than a higher dose, so I'm not sure about the 10 mg - but again, different people may be affected differently.
Definitely tell your pdoc, and if I were you, I'd keep daily notes about the dosage of both your meds, and how you feel each day - even if it's only writing down: Monday, "manic", Tuesday "manic", Wednesday, "normal" etc.
Best of luck to you -
Now I take Celexa, Lithium and Trazadone and it is the best combination of Psych meds that I have ever been on. I hope you are able to find the right meds to manage your symptoms. I know how frustrating it can be to find the right meds and the right dose. Best wishes to you.
The thing is, if you think you might crash then it is worth talking to your doctor asap.
i do get jumpy legs and angst but were working on that and i don't feel like drinking anymore maybe 2 glasses if i'm out and that's an improvement
i hope it works for you
I haven't worn make up or jewelry in probably about a year. I know part of it was depression but I don't usually want to wear it. Lately I want to wear it all the time. I don't know if maybe I'm just feeling better and don't remember what that feels like anymore and maybe akathisia on top of it or if it's mania or hypomania. I think I'll talk to my pdoc about it but try to wait it out until my appointment in a few weeks to see if it goes away on it's own.
