Lol. I think you're being hard on yourself though DS does require a certain amount of sensitivity when replying to posts. I noticed your rant under Nester's Grammar Nazi post but you did put a disclaimer. I didn't read it so I dunno how harsh it was. It's cool that you're asking for feedback though.

A mark of Asperger's (now known as Autism Spectrum Disorder) is that statements tend to sound very blunt and directed towards the listener, when really they're just general statements.

Also in that respect we come off as passive-aggressive. Or aggressive-aggressive looool.

I feel bad though because maybe Nester didn't want the drama or debate. I dunno.

I looooove debates and drama but you're right, not everyone wants that. You know I've always felt that bluntness shouldn't be a mark of Aspies. Or any disorder for that matter. What's wrong with the world when honesty has to be a sign of something. But then I guess by that standard being super happy shouldn't be part of BP either. Lol.

I love debates and drama too! It's what keeps life interesting.

dobie is 'old' enough around here to remember when I first got here, back the end of 2006....I used to Really beat myself up about 'whatever I imagined I did' when I would respond to threads and then crickets would chirp.

I think it's some kind of 'rite of passage' for people to do the "am I a thread-killer?" thing in the heads and ask about it. But really, 9 times out of 10 it just Happens....people run out of stuff to Say, or anyone likely to comment is not Here at the time.


Now seriously - there Are times when someone says something, ah, off-the-wall or thoughtless (off-the-wall and confusing are MY specialty, thank you) and then crickets will chirp because everyone at home is reading the comment and thinking, "WTH??" - but that's a Lot less common.

(and the people who actually SAY the incredibly show-stopping thing, are not going to be Aware enough to get what happened.)

I do say a lot of wonkadoodle off-the-wall things. They make sense to me because my brain processes things so quickly, so, it'd be impossible to explain how certain things are relevant from my point of view.

I'd have to write you a book, lol.

So I say shit that seems non-sequitur and doof up conversations that made sense before I came in.

Also because of this, I come off as overly serious or humorless and... that's so far from who I am. l: But I come off that way, I know I do.
