a cure?

Is there really any research going on to cure this illness? why has there been no break throughs only more pills?

No cure but cost a lot to cope and its mess its like all the docs are taking avanig of us all going rich off us all and there narmal its kida messed up to profit off some one that sick as much as they do makes it all that's sick pay out the but and some can't aford to get better

they can't cure what they can't see. 40 years ago, most bipolars were diagnosed as schizophrenics and treated with heavy duty tranquilizers and ect...we have come a long way.

unfortunately, they don't really know what causes bipolar...they only know what it does. until they know the cause, there will be no cure.

I understand that we might of come along way but why is it that parkinsons and alzeimers can hope for cures work on new drugs fund raise for future breakthroughs well its seems like mental health sits on the side lines it just seems wrong to me

Simple - Because everyone is afraid they may get those diseases themselves - or possibly some one close to them.

But also some diseases are inherantly harder to deal with.

I honestly don't think they have a clue one when it comes to a cure. I don't think there is as much study into the brain as there should be, the reason for that is because it is simply too complex.

They have come a long way with meds and forms of treatment, and I for one am thankful for that. I agree with you, it sure does feel like we are still pushed to the back burner.

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort.     Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
