Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I've written and re-written this, I'll try again and keep it as brief as possible.
In the group home where I live, there is a young ex-couple whom I'll call Danny and Sandy. They weren't married, just boyfriend and girlfriend. They had a very bitter break-up.On Tuesday, Danny told Sandy he wanted her to give him back all the gifts he ever bought her (????),so she did.
Sandy has asked to borrow money from me for cigarettes several times. I've always said "Oh don't worry, take it as a gift." Sandy suffers from bipolar, too. I guess I thought, when I bought her cigarettes on Tuesday, that having a smoke might calm her down a little (she was manic). That night,Danny and I had coffee in my room. I made the mistake of telling him what I'd done for Sandy, and foolishly said something like "I didn't mind giving her gifts,I just hope she doesn't ask for more right away" (she goes thru cigs like crazy). To cut to the chase,Danny went right to the caregiver on duty and ratted Sandy out. Wednesday night,we were having coffee again, and Danny said he'd gladly get Sandy in trouble any time he could.
Sandy finally consented to go to the hospital.
I worry all the time that these people are mad at me. The other day I imagined that everyone was giving me what I call "skunk looks". If I'm to be totally honest,I'm supposed to be here so I can get better, but a lot of the time these people make me feel worse (pulling me into their drama). I thought I was being "frozen out" which is what my family always does to me. But when someone did speak to me,I was so grateful that I went to my room and cried and cried.
Then my sister called, the one who found this place for me and actually ordered that I come here. I was upset and really had nothing to say to her,so there were several long silences during our conversation. For some reason, last night I couldn't stop crying and thinking about hurting myself. I thought of running away again (I've been running for about half my life),but that's no answer.
I hope you can make sense of this. I haven't been myself for several days.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

But sweetie, these people are not drawing you into their drama , you are walking right into it .
To relieve your stress, just don't get involved. Don't let people suck you into their junk. We have enough junk in our own lives, don't let other people manipulate you

I think DD said it all. Having an awareness of where you end and other people begin is called a boundary.
Unlike "good fences" it's good boundaries that make for good neighbors, relationships, friendships, and saner living. It's been a long hard lesson for me but I'm pretty hard to manipulate at this point in my life.
Study up on personal boundaries and how to establish them I guarantee you will reap a huge benefit!
((((Hugs)))) Loddy no one needs this petty junk!
If either one of these people started this again I would simply say you are both friends and I won't take a side... If either gets mad at that that's "THEIR" problem sweetie... No one can make everyone else happy Loddy...... I hope you feel better soon....xo
Hugs to you Loddy...be gentle to yourself.
