Think of your life in positive terms. And don't give me any bs about 'I can't think of anything positive'. Waaaa. You cannot afford to feel sorry for yourself. Choose something as mundane as: you are able to breathe unassisted right now. You are not mentally retarded. You have access to the internet. You obviously are in a place that has electricity. Did you eat tonite? Do you have a clean bed to sleep in tonite? You possess enough self-awareness to know you are not ok. Instead of cutting yourself and spiraling down even further, you posted a cry for help. BIG STEP. Start thinking of the people who do not have even the basic necessities that you have. THAT is changing your perspective.
Your depression sucks. I hate that you have to deal with this right now. But there is the other side. There is an end to this hell we call depression. Your thoughts will change, your situation will shift and things will start to look better. There were times I was so distraught that I literally felt as though someone had their hands around my throat and I couldn't breathe. I was usually hiding in my closet or in the corner next to the dresser. But I got through it by changing my perspective. A little trick my AA sponsor taught me. She too dealt with depression. I got through without hurting myself or anyone else. And you can too.
