No, I didn't comment on the anti-depressant question because I am not a doctor. But as far as the bacon question, I am dead serious.

It was a joke, an icebreaker if you will. But people who like bacon tend to move up a notch in my book.

Bipolar is 50/50 women and men, it isn't a gender or hormone thing, although hormones could exasperate it. It is believed to be genetic, that means you could have it at some point.

Or you might already and it just is not bothering you.

oh ok, yes i do! i really like bacon! lol. really, i used to visit a friend of mine (back before he got married) and he'd always buy me a whole pack of bacon and fry it up for me! LMAO! i mean he'd fry the whle pack for me! it was sooo good, but by the time i'd get 3/4 of the way thru, i'd be so greased out.... ha haa

btw, olenka, that puppet was MY FAVORITE stand up comedy thing EVER! especially since i was in the service and saw 9/11 up close and personal (pentagon). but anyways, the way that comedian did it cracked me up sooooo bad!!!

thanks! i don't think i have bp.. but maybe my bro has it a bit. not sure. we haven't successfully got him to the psych yet. i do believe that there's other things going on there too. he has a HUGE bug phobia to the point where he uses up cans and cans of bug spray and won't come out of his room. he is 26 yrs old and a former Marine, too (i served too). but he gets these snappy moods where he will lock himself in his room and won't come out. he'll yell thru the door and won't unlock it.

but when he's in a good mood he's fine and acts normal.

our older bro thinks we should tie him up and force him to the psych and have him hospitalized till they find out what's wrong with him and till they treat him. but i think that's too mean. he should seek and want it, right?

I wish both you and your loved one much luck, as for anti-depressants many Bipolars find them to exacerbate their symptoms. In the end it's a long term commitment between you and your loved one. Kudos to you for taking this step. Be well and much love and prayer to you and yours.
