I suffer a typ of insomnia can't get to sleep unitl 2 or 3 am and no matter how early I get up I still have this problem. I am only able to sleep about 6 or 7 hours then I am up sometimes less. sometimes I just lay in the bed even if I can't get to sleep to at least rest and if I am lucky I will fall asleep

I'm 66 and with my prostate I don't sleep well. I'd consider 6 or 7 hours a gift from heaven. The laying in bed resting is probably the best approach.

Hi...sometimes I can sleep normally with a sleep aid, but usually it is four to five hours for me. And with schoolwork, sometimes I just stay up all night.

I can only sleep for 2-4 hours :( there seems to be nothing I can do about it.

My pdoc just prescribed gabapentin for sleep and it kind of works but I still get up super early and can't get back to sleep. Usually I wake around 4:30am. Gives me lots of time to clean before anyone wakes up -- should I feel so inclined (HAHA).

I find Chamomile Tea and Lavender helpful. :)

Yes Desi! I do, too. I think it's the blend of lavender and chamomile that does the trick. It will help me fall asleep but not keep me from waking at the crack of dawn.

Oh man, that stuff has been mentioned twice! Now I really want to try. Maybe it will also help Jason who just can't sleep through the night.
He was on Ambien XR and it was wonderful. Insurance won't cover it anymore so he has to take the regular Ambien. It's just not working.

thank you for all the commetns and suggestions I do use camamile tea sleep aides leave me hung over and I can't get anything accomplished. I just drag all day long. so I have decided to make the best of it and do things at noght that I can't do in the day time because of the heat such as baking and cooking for the next day. Tonight I am baking biscuits and a carrot cake and steaming vegetables and washing a load of bathroom towels. Then I'll have some camamile tea and try to rest till I fall asleep.

I'd consider 6-7 hours heavenly as well .... I recently started Gabapentin as well and it sure helps the quality of my sleep however not the length of time... I like it though

Sleeping problems is something that a lot of people with BP struggle with unfortunately....x

My sleeping problem is sleeping too much! Last night I slept for 12 hours. And even then Jason had to wake me up "ummmm....it's 3:30pm...would you like to get up"?
Geez, how can I sleep so much?
