Don't be nervous. They are just going to talk to you and ask you some questions which you very well know the answers to. Believe in yourself. If they ask about symptoms, make sure you give them all-mental, physical, etc. And remember to just breathe!! Hugs.

Get a lawyer. Sorry my best advice took me 2+ years to finally get approved for SSD and a lawyer really helped.

The phone calls are usually just to gather information that is pretty basic. Dont be nervouw hope it goes well

Heire is my advice...My interview was murder.When they say that they will call you...they will.9 o clock means 9 o clock and please be truthful to them.If you come into any kind of money including inheritance an d you dont tell them....then they withhold the check for 3 months.ALways be truthful.Secondly...answer the question and DONT TELL MORE THEN YOU DO.KEEP SECRETS TO YOURSELF.I made this mistake and my claim was held up.If they ask about hobbies and such...always tell them the truth and if they say a follow up phone call is needed...please make sure that you are home...because if you are not...they wait one more month..and dont be nervous...let me know how you do.vader.

thanks vader.. it's just..... my phone ran out of battery while we were talking. and I would call her back but the number was restricted. after our conversation was cut out... she didn't call me back. so I don't know what the next step in this whole process is.

In your state you have a 42percent chance the 1st time. RI has a high approve rate. I had my hearing last wk. It took me 2yrs 5months to get a hearing I had to sell almost every thing I owned. My lawyer thinks we won. My state has the 2nd highest denial rate. It can be a long painfull process and alot of very sick people get denied. You really need a good lawyer. Good luck.........

i really hope you get it. i believe there a those who can work but don't. there are also those who shouldn't work but do.
i know someone who is very capable of holding at least a part time job but insists he cannot. hiding behind his meds side effects must be easier.
i am one who should not work at times but on the whole, can hold down a respectable job with right support. i know i can so i do.
those of you playing games make it harder for those who truly need it. please be truthful and honest. let's help the ones in true need climb into independence

Poohm you can find the rates by typeing in SSDI state denial rates on your computer. Voc rehab told me to file. I was trying to get job training from them. My father died 11 months after being denied at the State level. It's not an easy thing to get and a lot of really sick people get denied.

They call to gather information. You need not be nervous. Be honest and clear and you will do well.
