Hello, my name is Greg.
I was diagnosed in 2007 with bipolar 1. In Dec. 2011 I took myself off medication and lived moderately "ok" since then. In Nov. 14 I was triggered and I have decided to go back on medication.
I'm looking for support.
I have 7+ years experience with bipolar, denial, mood swings, anger, understand triggers, diagnosis, alternative medications, etc. I also have partial training as a peer support worker. At this time though I'm in need of help, thank you. It has also taken me 8 years to be able to accept that I have repressed my anger and I am now at least able to ask for help. That is something that has changed. Thank you God, thank you humanity.
I am extremely knowledgeable in spirit. I can see this "disorder" from the psychiatrists perspective, and from the other side of the coin - the "shamans" perspective. Both are needed. Life is a journey of understanding. Acceptance.
I love you all for being here for me. Thank you.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

It sounds like you have been through a lot and it's very strong of you to come here and look for support. It takes a lot for any of us to manage MI and this is a good place to get the support you need on your journey. People here will be there for you - full of support and ideas that can help!
Sending you best wishes on your road to recovery and managing!
Peace,
Mark
Welcome to DS. This is a great place with lots of really caring people.
There was a time or two that II tried to stay off meds... but I now am relying on meds to stay stable. It was quite a struggle to arrive here after a long and sometimes scary journey. I never want to go through psychosis again.
