I'm getting so frustrated with my sleep pattern. It's 4:45am here and I'm still wide awake. I've been laying in bed trying to sleep for hours and I've finally given up and come on here.

Been having this problem for a couple of weeks now and it's starting to get me down. I'm stuck with being awake all night and then I'm fit for nothing the next day.

Anyone else here sharing this frustration at the moment? If you've had it before, did you find ways of getting out of the cycle? Could really use some advice. I've tried warm drinks before bed, having a bath, reading, and relaxation techniques (I even have a CD) Nothing is working.

I use Xanax or Klonopin, otherwise I wouldn't sleep at all. I've been an insomniac most of my life. Ambien and Lunesta don't help.

Are you on meds for your BP? Do you have any benzos to help you sleep? Definitely talk to your doctor. I wish you luck.

Yeah so sad to say it but it's pills that get me through those times. I'm not always like this though.

I don't take meds, I don't sleep. Simple as that. I HAVE to have pills to knock me out.
I took Seroquel, but I gained 70 pounds and refused to take it any longer.
I took Thorazine and it worked great for quite a while, but then I developed Tardive Dyskinesia and so had to stop.
Right now, I'm taking gabapentin and Imipramine and Xanax and it worked for a while, but then stopped about a week ago.
So, I've been staying up until five in the morning or going to sleep at eleven only to wake up at three and stay up till six.
I say find the right sleep meds!!! I'm going to keep trying to find one I can stick with!!!!

Like Arianna I use Xanax and Klonpin at night. It seems to work. I hope you find something to help you sleep. Yesterday I was just so tired...I took 3 naps giving me a grand total of 8 hours. But that was on a Sunday so I could afford to do it. We beepers seem to have a dificult time with sleep. You are in good company. I tried Lunesta and it didn't do a thing for me and left a metallic taste in my mouth. So much for that. My pdoc won't Rx ambien because of the side effects. Keep trying. I hope you find something. Have you tried trazadone? That may help. Good luck to you. xx
