This is my mania
This is what mania looks like for me
I started feeling out of control by age 22
I felt I had so much to do but not enough time to do it
My mind would race 24/7 and sleep was horrible I was always tired
I was either in tears or very irate picking verbal fights with my dad
I could not concentrate on school work or concentrate period
Enter the world of internet dating
Sex was my downfall
I went from phone sex to meeting strangers pretty quickly
I almost got kicked out of my parents house
Lithium really saved me it calmed me down I was me again after 5 yrs
I thank God for my family everyday
Now I am stable

Good for you in finding a way to stop it.

I am so happy for you and your stability! This winter I am the most stable I have been in a long time. I have been depressed since I was 13 (I am 25 years old now), then manic since I was 19, and schizoaffective since 4 years ago. I always end up in the psych hospital during the winter so I am excited. My med combination right now is pretty life altering. I added lexapro and navane about a month and a half ago but even before that I was pretty stable. Now I am even more stable.

Thank you both. Worldofblah i am happy to hear that you have found stability as well. It is the best feeling in the world to feell like yourself again after such a long period. Looking back at what i did while manic makes me cringe. lol That is a place i hope I never ever visit again.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
