Nightmares

I had horrible dreams last night and now I'm afraid to go to sleep tonight. It's stupid, I know I have to but I'm really not looking forward to it. I usually like to sleep, it's a break from having to think. But not tonight....

I HATE those kinds of dreams...the kind that linger and haunt for hours...sometimes days.

I hope you have a better night tonight.

Do you take a med that is known for causing bad dreams?
I take Depakote..it causes major bad dreams ....and so vivid they seem real,hard to come to the surface awake (so to speak)

I used to take Mirtazapine which gave me very vivid dreams, but I've been off that for over a month. I don't know why I had this happen last night, think it might have been something I ate but not sure about that. Thanks for you well wishes, I do hope it goes better tonight.

I think the idea it was something you ate...is an pld wives tale..but I could be wrong.
What did you have for dinner?

Usually stress and inner fear cause bad night terrors

I hope you do ok tonight

And stay away from spicy food at night?

I know you are right - stress and inner fear, I was just reaching for a simpler cause, one easier to bear. I don't know how to settle my mind to have a peaceful sleep - just gotta hope for it I guess. And no spicy foods! ;)

You've got too much stress and have not been able to talk about it. That's what you can do here and we listen. Whatever it is bothering you tell us. Get it out of your mind and realize that you have friends.

I had nightmares from age 3 [at least that's as far back as I remember] until I was into my 40's . I'm free now.. although I admit I have nightmares or terrors occasionally and it's when my mate is emotionally abusing me. He can be psychotic.
