I have Bipolar 2 disorder with rapid cycling and have been known to be a recluse also. I felt safe in my room it's a haven, from the outside world. But my psychiatrist insisted it was for sleeping at night only. It was really tempting to hide away in there at first. But looking back it was the best thing for me. Like all Bipolar people we need regular sleep patterns and this really helped. Try to get out every day around the same time. Even if it's just in the yard studying, you'll feel much better for it. Gradually you may feel like walking or going somewhere more social.
