I tried riding the stationary bike in the basement, but it was basically a no-go. It is absolutely beautiful here, I moved here to ride my bike longer outside, but it still is not happening.
Good to hear you are back on the bike. My husband bought a new mountain bike and has been out on the trails a few times. My son is trying to get him to join a trail club for rides once a week. I will never be able to do that kind of riding, but I am happy he is enjoying himself!
Congratulation's on your new bike fishboy.
Marlene sorry to hear that your RA medicines are not working and your not able to ride. Hope that your new med's work and you will be out and riding soon.
We went to church this morning and there was a fund raising ride on the road where we drive. My son was in the ride, and said there were over 300 people. It is hard to see so many people biking, when I can barely walk across the room.
I'm very discouraged, not sure if I will be able to ride again.. I moved here because there is year round riding, and bike trails and dedicated lanes, and now I cannot ride. Sigh!
So I did some physiotherapy, and the pain was a lot less in the left elbow and gone in the right one.
Who knew that elbows could stop you from riding?
Thanks for the prayers!
So Glad for you to be back to feeling better. Still sending prayers for you
Bill
Now I start a new med, and it might take up to 6 months to work, if it works. If it doesn't, I am toast, because that is the last possible drug for me.
Yesterday I went for a short swim in a hot springs. It was hard. I am so out of shape it is a crime! So thanks for the prayers, Bill. I am going to continue to need them for a while to come.
Praise the Lord!
Prayers!

I have starting walking outside, since riding my bike in the basement is so boring. We had clouds for a month and a half, and yesterday it got sunny and clear. So I got a walking app today, which didn't record my calories for reasons I cannot explain. I ended up walking .9 Mile or 1.5 km.
But you know what, it just kept coming into my mind - I hate walking, I want to ride my bike! Especially coming down the mountain. I just kept imagining myself ripping down the mountain with no effort. Walking downhill is such a waste of time.
Anyway, sorry to here what interferon is doing to you. I hope you are ok. It's been a while since you posted.
I am hoping to get out this eve but it is only supposed to be 26degrees today. May still give it a try.
Prayers!

So I didn't manage a lot, but I got to 5.1 km in 22 minutes. What got me was the smells. Lots of people burning wood, things starting to grow, and a few blocks to get past where a skunk had sprayed. I don't think I remember that ever happening to me in Alberta.
Still it was fun, and if I can get on the basement bike a few more times before it gets warm again, I will be that much better.
And do I have a lot of weight to lose. Although some of it is certainly from water retention from prednisone. Oh yes, I went up on prednisone again, I was just fed up with the pain. And the new med, Orencia, seems to work one or two days a weeks. I really would prefer 7. LOL
