I do not know,I think maybe all of us that are alive after we lose a loved one may feel some guilt about being alive. Do not know, maybe it is part of the grief process.
BUT you DO NOT have anything to feel guilty about!!
I situation is not the same as yours, I lost my mom in a car accident .
But I feel guilty,I did not talk to my mom the last day of her life. I feel guilty it took the hospital 6 hours to get a hold of us.Because we where riding around on the motorcyle. And my poor dad was all all alone in a hospital 200 miles away from home. I feel guilty i did not spend enough time with my mom.... the list can go on and on.
But is serves no purpose.
We all wish we could change people or situations but we can not.
Please be kind to yourself.
I think people do not know what to say regarding the loss of a loved one through health issues or an accident. And I am sure suicide is even more difficult to approach.
I hope that you can find peace..
