it's been a little over five weeks since I lost my beautiful wife. Weekends are definitely the hardest for me. During my fun normal life, I was in early riser on the weekends and pretty much worked around the house and of course did all the honeydews. I knew as soon as I woke up today (Saturday) I felt the loneliness, sadness and like what's the point of even getting up. My bed faces the master bathroom where the first thing when you wake up you see his and her sinks. I couldn't take it anymore, looking at the cotton balls, her tooth brush and all the cute little frou frous. I went nuts, collected it altogether and threw it in the trash outside. What the hell did I do? Now it's going on midnight and I can't imagine my wife's cute little things are sitting in the trashcan outside. I am so torn up! I just can't live without her! Her biggest fear in life was worrying about something ever happening to me. She was the Health Gooroo, fitness instructor... now when I wake up in the morning, I will be staring at her empty sink counter! Dave

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

However you feel, you feel and that's alright.... This is a time for baby steps.... A RL support group might be a big help for you
The things you threw out is just stuff... .... It is no reflection on how you feel about your wife...... In the beginning of grief I found I just had to get through one day, one hour, one moment at a time
We have a really good Widows and Widowers board on here.... People are in different stages of healing... It's a very supportive group
I'm glad that you're here.... Gentle hug and a blessing......xo

As far as the well meaning comments from friend's and family about just moving on.....get over it, etc... like you just lost an Iphone or family pet! I had to tell them that I appreciate their concern and advise, but pray that I never have to tell them the same thing anytime soon and know my pain ever! It stopped and changed to just "hang in there best you can!" Which I think is more realistic, given the depth/complexity of the sorrow we're dealing with, which they'll get to know sooner or later anyway. Flow with the feelings constructively, stay aware of your thoughts and keep it positive.
