Hey guys! I'm sure you're all aware that Hurricane Irene is planning to visit some of us this weekend. I don't know where everyone is located but here in Va., we are preparing for her, as we did for Isabel a few years ago. We lost power for many days then. About an hour ago, we had a few buckets of rain dumped on us, with the predictions of many more. My "other half" works for Asplundh Tree Co. and they will be pulling out Sunday morning, to go wherever they are needed. In the past, they have been to Florida, Texas and Massachusetts, to name a few. Of course, I always worry when he's gone. So, I wanted to let ya'll know ahead of time, that in case it gets bad, and you don't hear from me for awhile, I will be thinking of ya'll. Please be careful and safe. I hope we all make it through, with minimal damage.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I live in South Florida on the east coast, and we certainly had some nice 25-35mph gusts!!! Hopefully, the cooler waters of the north Atlantic will break the thing down before it does anything major to the eastern seaboard.

Hi ya'll! Well, we lost our power around 6 pm Sat. and got it back last night. Irene was scary but, I think Isabel had her beat. A huge limb missed our house by a few feet, had a lot of cleanup but, we're okay. 4 people lost their lives in Va., all by downed trees so, the circle of grieving is continuing. Had a chance to visit my elderly neighbor quite a bit, and her family has thanked me over and over, for being there for her. I told them it was no problem because, we had each other to lean on. Gotta run for now...I have a ton of things to do, since I can see so much better. It was difficult to do much, with only candlelight! I missed ya'll, and hope to hear from ya'll soon!
