Sylvia Browne is a psychic and spiritualist who appears on Montel, Larry King, etc., and I don't know how much faith you place in psychic mediums, to be able to talk to departed souls and such (I'm not sure), her books about spirituality are some real gems. I just read If You See What I See, and think it's a work of genius that has makes a lot of sense.
Thought this might help...
"We spend so much time celebrating a soul coming in, but if he or she is going Home, we don't want to face it. I know this is horribly hard, but the spiritual and unselfish thing to do is to talk the person over to the Other Side. My second husband, Dal, was able to do this for his mother when she lay in a coma due to lymphatic cancer. He related how he spoke in her left ear (which is controlled by the intellect) and explained that she should look for and go toward the white light, and then she'd meet a loved one who would help and go with her to the Other Side.
"Dal then told me that he sat back in a chair by her bedside, and within moments he saw his mother come out of her body, as an entity from the Other Side came to stand beside her. He said that they stood there for a few minutes and then proceeded to move away and disappear through a wall. He was so moved by the incident, and the fact that he was able to help his mother pass peacefully.
Death is a celebration of life--but now it's over, and we've graduated.
It's so funny that we're afraid to live AND afraid to die, and that only a (religious) dogma is supposed to sustain us, when none of this ever came from the mouth of Christ. If Christ were alive today, He wouldn't be a Christian. I had a priest tell me many years ago at a funeral that everyone who wanted to go to heaven got there. What a beautiful, simple concept..."
Indeed, I've even heard Christian evangelists say that God doesn't abandon us, WE abandon HIM (or her). All we have to do is simply embrace our creator, so that we don't fear death and we embrace life with love and deeper meaning.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I've heard of cases where either the spirit was seen leaving or another case too long to detail here. I didn't want to whisper to Mom that it was okay to leave, since I don't think God gives us a choice - "You know not the day nor the hour."
But I missed what I'd hoped for. Being her comfort and support on her last day. Instead, I was out of my mind on the phone trying to get help/advice and couldn't stay near her bed watching her. Uncharacteristic of me after months of witnessing so many issues. My Aide held my Mom that day more than me. I don't remember holding my mother that last day(?) Her last word to me that I recall was "No" during the day when I asked about going to hospital. She tapped the top of my hand with her fingers - what was she saying to me? What? Did she know? Did she want me to stop calling people for help? I won't ever know - what was she trying to say? Her spirit left her body while I slept next to her hospital bed. I fell asleep one hour before she died. WHY? She must have left wondering why I was sleeping on the job after months of caring for her.
Sorry for running on - but I hear these comments made by psychics - we don't who's real, and I wouldn't care about the money they make if they are genuine. But it's like they're telling us anything we don't already know.
