Hello
I lost my brother about 2 weeks ago. It was sudden and a huge shock. He was only 49. I still keep saying that it didnt happen. This stuff doesnt happen to my family. There were only 6 of us. We celebrated everything together. My brother was there for me and for his nephew anytime we needed him. He was kind, funny, loving, a wonderful husband who would never had wanted to leave his wife. I feel complete devastation. I have never experienced this kind of grief before. It hits hard-puts me into a panic-crying. I have this hole now and it's so sad. I honestly don't know how to cope with this. I just want him back. We all needed him with us.

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

There is so much going in with your dynamics, and the loss is still very fresh so everybody is really raw. Time will help, it can help a lot if you let it.
I have lost all my birth family (sister, mom, dad, in that order over about 5 years). What I have begun to realize is that my "normal" was gone, never to come back. But there is a new "normal" out there for me. I have found huge parts of it. Some I have dealt with just fine, others still make me sad/angry/ scared/etc. But I'm getting there.
You have a large family, so that should be a great source of support. But you might also want to look outside of your family too. My parents, especially my mom, took my sister's death very hard. It sounds like you were much closer to your brother than I was to my sister. That makes it hard. I was able to focus on helping my parents since my needs were not as great. Having friends who have less emotion tied to the issue may help you recognize your new "normal".
gentle hugs
I only have my Dad left. My Mom passed 6 years ago. Since then, there had been 6 of us. My brother was a huge presence. Now we are 5. It hurts to realize that I have no birth family left or siblings. My Dad will be 80. I am seeing my Doctor tomorrow and will discuss all this with her.
Your right. My normal is gone. I hope I can find a new one.
Thank You for your kind words.

Some things do change us forever however over time we can celebrate those we've loved as well as grieve their loss.... For now I would just try and focus on getting through the day, or hour or moment... Another hug and a blessing.... I think you're wise to talk with your doctor......xo
