I am writing this column because today I encountered a very touchy subject. This subject has brought a great deals of hate and fights and it has caused major disagreements with family. But what do you do when you are asked--WHAT WAS IN THE WILL? DID HE/SHE LEAVE YOU ANY MONEY?When you are asked this at 7 o clock in the morning and they know that I have breakfast there everyday and I havent had my coffee yet..what is the point? Can anyone tell me what do you reply?I have got a very serious question..What do people want to know this for anyway? Why are they so concerned? The money isnt going to them.Number two--I have encountered a law that is not known..but do you know if the witnessess to the signing of the will are dead...that the will is considered invalid? In New York..if you die without a will..they have got probate..Probate can take up to a year and you may lost everything that you do have. The second question was asked recently about my father and I still am hurt. You see my father never knew these people and I want to know why thye are so concerned now..it has been 21 years.Shouldnt they have said something 21 years ago? May I ask something.what do you say to someone whom you know that asks this question. How do you reply? These are questions that you simply do not ask the grieving. They are rude, crude and frankly in some cases...they are none of a persons concern.

I just say, "That's private information and I don't wish to discuss it.", turn, and walk away - It's OK to stand up for yourself against nincompoops who have no respect for others' privacy.

I agree wholeheartedly with LaRubia, "that information is private and not up for discussion." Personally, I would also ask them "why do you feel a need to know such personal info?" That pretty much would probably embarrass them enough to shut up.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
