I saw you mention in a response to another member that you were Catholic so I thought I could ask you a few questions and hopefully you know the answers. I didn't have a funeral for my father who passed away in May. Last night I was thinking that I would like to have a memorial for him sometime in the near future. Do you think that I would be able to have a memorial mass for him in a Catholic church? Would the Church have a problem with the fact that my father was cremated and not buried? I think having some kind of memorial for my dad might help with my grieving process.

You are Catholic, right? I don't see why the church would have a problem with you having a memorial for your dad. Bothof my parents were cremated and we had a mass for them on the same day of the visitation. I hope that this helps you.

Hi. Yes, both my father and I were brought up Catholic. Thank you for your input, it was helpful. I really want to do something for my dad when I am feeling emotionally stronger.

Hi there love. The Catholic church has no problem whatsoever with cremation. Just approach your nearest Catholic Church and request either a requiem mass, or a simple memorial service. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
