My 3 year old granddaugher died in a house fire on Nov. 17, 2012. We buried her on Nov. 27, 2012. She was such a beautiful child so full of life and love. No one should ever have to bury their grandchild.
The community came together and raised money for her funeral and to help my daughter replace some of the material things she lost in the fire.
I will miss Alyssa and she will always be in my heart.

INNOCENCE
Here is an innocence I can understand.
Held in the heart of a love-child;
Clasped in the strength of a tiny hand -

I am a member of a group here on DS called ForMomsOnly, which is a support group for mothers, grandmothers, stepmoms, aunts...any "mom" who has lost a child. I welcome you to join our group and to share our information with others. The moms in our group are compassionate, loving, caring, and supportive and understand the pain as only one who's lost a child can.
