I'm so terribly sorry for the loss of your mom. I know you have to,miss her desperately. I lost my dad recently. At first, I didn't grieve very much, but did later.
I'm sorry she wasn't treated well in rehab. Try to remember the good times, though I know it's hard right now.
I'll keep you in my prayers. God bless.
It's no doubt that this will be a very hard year but know that there is hope through it all and you will eventually find peace. I know it's not easy to hear things like that and it may not be much of a comfort to you right now, but my pastor told me something a few months after my mom passed away. He said "Part of your DNA is in Heaven now and you are just that much closer to God the Father and his son Jesus and your mom."
I hope i don't come across as offending (or say 'I am right, you are wrong' type of thing) especially in your time of grief. I only am trying to give some good news. Heaven is real! And as John 14: 6 (Jesus is speaking to his diciples) "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Those who enter heaven do not enter on the basis of merit (good works, good deeds), but on the basis of God's grace as bestowed by Jesus Christ (by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior).
Sending you a (virtual) hug and a prayer that you will get through this.
Melissa, one thing I've found that's helped me is to reframe my mind when I find myself starting to feel that guilt about the past. I will stop myself and remember the good things and focus on those. I hope you can find peace as you move through the grieving process.
