Yes, grief can be difficult to manage. We get that here! I have found comfort in the understanding that the stages of grief are not like individual things that you must complete before you move onto the next one.
There may be some sort of order that people first experience the basic emotions of grief, but the reality is that we bounce around between them. Sometimes we never really know why we seem to be going back to an emotion (or stage) that we thought we had passed.
There are many triggers that will bring out different emotions in you. (My MIL, who lives with us, criticized one of my meals. Mostly I misheard what she said. But in any event I started thinking of my dad, and how he would not have said something like that. And it has been 6 months since my dad passed away.)
Pay attention to things that set you off (these things are often called triggers because they trigger an emotional response from us.) It could be anything from a song he liked to a place he liked to eat to what ever.
As time passes it will get easier. That does not mean we love them less, it just means that we are coming to terms with what has happened.
Gentle hugs
It is very helpful to me to know that there are others who have gone through this and who understand what I'm going through in ways that my family can't.
I'd love to hear back from you if you feel like sharing
