I miss my dad so much. It will be 2 years in june that he has been gone. It cuts like a knife but how can you run from pain when its in your brain (mental pain). I am moving house, i have a full time job with a permanat contract, I'm saving money , I'm getting in touch with old friends again, so people look at me like I have my life and s***t sorted. I will be honest, inside i'm still broken. Yes things are going well when it comes to those types of things but I'm terribly lonely without my dad. I would love to go home from work and just see him there and then have him ask how my day was and give me one of his amazing bear hugs. This might sound silly but at 25 I still need my dad. At 23, I was nowhere near prepared to lose my parent. Does anyone feel a void which nothing seems to fill, and how alone that makes you feel. I can think and talk about him now without breaking down, but I'm struggling with how alone I feel, even though I have loads of people around me. As, my dad was ill, I cared for him for just over a year before he died, and it was just me and him that had each others backs and I don't know if its just my thought pattern, but I just feel isolated. It's the loneliness that hurts the most, its like an uncomfortable ache in your heart. Sorry for rambling.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Yes I believe that some things change our life forever and we then somehow find a new normal
Grief is a process that we somehow find our way through but we don't 'get over' losing people who we loved so dearly
I think at a certain point for me I found that I could celebrate their life as opposed to mourn their death.... I could think of things that made me smile and even laugh when I thought of my mom or dad
If you find yourself really struggling with the despair after 2 years it 'might' have triggered a depression and for that you might need some medical help
A bereavement group can also help with working through your feelings and pain
Gentle hug..... I know that there are people in our lives that we just can't imagine being without and it hurts.....xo
