I didn't find out for sure until almost 10 PM last night. Needless to say, still kept me from getting any sleep. I guess that I was just so relieved, I couldn't quite calm down enough to settle for the night.
Onward and forward!
when I am out there driving , it seems as though 90% of people are doing this. They never are driving as normal as they think they are.
It is such a senseless careless, selfish act and is my biggest pet peeve in the world, along with drunk or impaired driving.
I am not suggesting you mention this especially with a communicatin problem involved. But I think most would agree , if you all reading this , give this some thought next time some of you may be tempted to just text real quickly , it could save a life or at least property loss.
just pull over. and I don't mean, stop while about to leave a public parking lot , making us wait behind you while you send the text.
I really hope I am not out of line. But it is lives.
blessings
I'm guilty of this myself, but have learned my lesson. I once called my husband to find out how traffic was on our street, so I could know whether it was more beneficial to take side streets. He wasn't paying attention and didn't realize he made an error in front of a police officer.
Needless to say, he was pulled over. The officer only gave him warning, but didn't resist the opportunity to inform him that the officer has the power to have him deported.
I have an uncle (the husband of my mom's sister) who had to learn this lesson the hard way. It wasn't for cell usage while driving (cell phones weren't out at the time). He was driving home after drinking, got into accident, and killed a family. He was sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter. He was just released a few years ago. A couple of years after his release, he lost his son to cancer.
I, too, hope that anyone who reads this takes this to heart. Those few seconds to send a text are not worth the loss of a lifetime, nor is drunk driving.
