It sounds like you are in that huge let-down period. All the hustle and bustle of the service is over and people have gone their separate directions.
You mentioned a brother who passed away in another post. Do you have any more family who is at all near to you?
I think that this group is really good, it is a place to come and vent and seek peer support, it has been really good for me.
I also attended a grief class at my local hospital. It was very good to connect with others who have also suffered a loss. I think that the need to be at the weekly meeting at the same time, same place really helped.
Gentle hugs, and welcome
To cope I've been going outside, watching stupid t.v.and visiting cats at the local rescue. I know that sounds silly but sometimes we have to find whatever comforts us and it's ok. I've also been eating everything...
I like Peppers suggestion of a grief group. I may join one soon. Also do you have friends or cousins you can stay over with for a night or so?
I know there aren't words that can make you feel better, but if you want to talk you can message me. Hugs.
I'm glad you came here, we're all grieving, but we're all caring and supportive.
Don't feel guilty doing whatever you can to get through the day and to get to sleep at night. I eat ice cream, cheesecake, drink camomile tea, watch hours of meaningless TV to forget how sad I am. I take Benedryl at night to help me sleep else I'm a horrible person the next day.
After the funeral, my family and friends disappeared - it's up to me to make the first contact as they don't know how to help. I also recognize my own mortality now and am more forgiving on myself. If the house doesn't get cleaned, that's okay for now - I believe from my friends that time makes it a little better.
Hugs ...
With no family left, I was beside myself in grief and loneliness. I had to go for a ride after she passed, and I did some thing i had never done before. There was a spa, manicure place etc, and my car pulled into parking lot and some how i got out and went in, and i just said my mom just passed, I do not know what i am doing, and the sweetest lady there , prayed for me right there, gave me a hug, and she said come sit beside me and just close your eyes...I could not believe what i was doing, but at same time i felt a peacefulness also. that was my first manicure, but have never forgotten i truly believe, God turned my car in there, right time right place to get through those first hours. Hugs to all of you
