He just died three days ago on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009. it doesn't seem that long. I miss him so much. He was a grumpy old sod with a heart of gold. He was kind, caring, loving and giving. He also got impatient with people who repeated themselves (like me), at objects, and drivers. He loved drinking beer and playing keno. He didn't like to go out for visits but he was quite chatty when Smokey (his nick name) was out. I didn't really get it. Smokey told me he didn't like going out to peoples places for a visit, yet, when he did Smokey enjoyed himself. It was a contradiction from my view point. I like to go out and visits my family and friends. He didn't have a will and everything was in his name. I am unemployed and he supported me 100%. I have to get a lawyers note to say that I am the Executor so I can access his accounts and get information. He said i would be taken at his death. I think he had insurance for his mortage etc.
I had that we have look or do all the paperwork and finances is important. Death never comes at a good time but being unemployed doesn't help. I have been look for over one year using the internet and emailing with not much succes, as I am not working. I miss his so much. A little piece of me has died with him. I wish I had as well. I miss home so much. it is hard to keep going on now. It is a bunch of crap that you have to deal with llike cremation, memorial service, death certificates, bank accounts, bills, etc. I don't know how I can hold on to the apartment, which was Smokey's legacy. I am afraid of losing it. He would have hated if I lost the apartment. I just don't know what I am going to do. I will take it one day at a time. I would have loved to die right along Smokey, my better half. Life is just not fair.
