The pain is still fresh and so the holidays will be difficult to get through. Don't be hard on yourself at this time. Find a few friends/family/clergy that can help you through right now.
A loss of a child is not natural and is the most devastating and painful thing you will ever endure.
Grieving is a process and many of the stages will be revisited and not in any particular order. You will grieve throughout your life for all the special events that she will not be there in bodily form...but should have been. When you are further down the road with your grief, IMO it is better to honor her in these events....but that is just me and my experiences as the sibling survivor.
Take your time and keep coming here and other places for support ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
As you said there is more to the story, but whatever it is, just allow yourself to grieve. I lost my sister and the circumstances has caused me immense guilt and regrets that I'm stuck in like glue. I was looking at this video where this girl talked about guilt and loss and she said try to set aside guilt and regret and other thoughts because isn't it enough to grieve?
I realized that is true. That trying to sort out other complicated thoughts and details is a huge ordeal and it is enough to just let yourself deal with the mountain at hand. Please come back here to let it out if you need to.
I think that loss of a loved one is hard to process, but more so with the loss of a child. My BFF passed away from leukemia in 1998. She was 18 and I was 17, at the time. After her death, her parents cut off any communication with any of her friends. I assumed it was because we reminded them too much of her. I still think about her and wonder how they're doing.
