Hello, I've been in need of a little extra support and thought daily strength would be a good place to go. I've been apart of groups in the distant past and they have been very helpful when active. Anyways, I guess I'll just jump into it. My father, 54 yrs old, ended his life on the 19th of september, 2023. I will not go into any of the details. He did however leave a note, of which I have not and will never read other than what he wrote to me personally. That part I had my mom read to me. This has all been so devestating and confusing. At first I wracked my brain constantly wondering if there was something I could have done to stop it. I personally have struggled with suicidal thoughts due to my BPD and severe depression. I should have seen something. The more I thought about it the more I saw signs. But there's no way I would have been able to guess that that is what was going on. During his last days he was acting so happy. I thought it was his new found faith because he was talking about that a lot and we were having these really awesome discussions. We were repairing our relationship the last 3 months of his life. We didn't have a good relationship for almost my entire life. Now he's gone and we can't continue that. It breaks my heart so much. I wanted a dad so bad and I finally got him and now he's gone. I'm going to therapy once a week and taking my meds, but I'm so brokenhearted.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
rocking you gently and crying with you.
"brokenhearted" doesn't quite cover ^it^.
when my charmingly abusive father died (sorta natural causes) in 2005, i was working with a catholic spiritual adviser. she wasn't an official therapist, but she sure guided me to some sound, sustainable healing approaches.
she was the most insistent i ever saw her that i attend a grief support group. her stance was that when a loved one dies, it is the loss of a physical presence. yes, the person is missed, but the love lives on.
when an abuser dies, it is the death of hope. all chances of fixing the relationship are gone. is there a tragedy greater than the death of hope?
i followed her lead and several of the other members of the group thanked me for inspiring them to allow their lost loved ones to be fully, contradictorily human, flaws and all.
I lost my beloved daughter to suicide July 7 2019
I will never get over it
Thank you Junehilary. I am sorry for your loss as well. I don't know if it's something to get over, but to learn to cope with.
