I just joined here, so this is my first post. Really I'm just trying to find people to talk to because I feel so alone. Most of my family is passed away now, but the one that effects me the most is my father. I lost him when I was 15, he was an alcoholic all my life. He literally drank himself to death. Now not only am I left with feelings of grief, but also feeling as if I never really got to know him, as well as feeling guilty for missing someone who might not deserve it. I know some of my feelings are irrational, but I can't stop them from happening.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

My dad was an alcoholic but was able to get help and stop drinking
Addiction is an illness sweetie .... He wasn't a bad person he was a sick person...
You can love someone and not like everything about the person..... Your feelings aren't at all irrational
I think that they're normal
A group like Al Anon might really help you.... It's free and there are meetings all over.... They're for the loved ones of people that suffer from alcoholism
Another hug.....xo
