How does a person help the grieving? Let me offer some suggestions to you.The first thing you can do is be kind and offer words of comfort.Do not ask the grieving widow or widower about money.Do not say to a parent who recently lost a child...."dont be upset...You will have another child".I told this person at the funeral parlor she was being racist and mean. When a person loses a child......they are not thinking of any replacements.Say I am so sorry and offer help. How does a person help? Well,on the day of the funeral ...if you cannot attend.....bring a card or a flower to the house.Do not stay long and hang around because this is ignorant but stay until the minister or priest arrives.Do not attempt to have any conversation with the above. They are not there to see you. Please leave quietly. And on the day of the memorial service or funeral....do not bring a cake or pie.The person grieviing is not interested in deserts.Bring a hot meal.Bring a tuna casserole or any casserole will do.Make sure that the contents of the casserole are vegan and try not to offend the host. And if you see a greatdeal of dishes piled up...why dont you do them? I am sure that dishes are the last thing on their mind.If the place is dusty.....please take up a cloth and dust and offer to get the gireving a housekeeper for at least one month.COme over when you can.Do not avoid them. They are lost and hurt and do me a favor...if the grieving starts to cry....LET THEM.It is their right and if this offends you..I suggest you take a look at yourself if you call yourself human.Remember people care and I am one of the people who do.Vader

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Your advice is perfect. I would like to add one thing to it, if I may. I wish someone would come up with a phrase other than 'I am sorry for your loss.' Hearing that phrase after my mother died began to set my teeth on edge. I began thinking I was going to punch the next person who said it to me. Then, I found myself saying the same phrase to others who suffered the loss of a loved one. Any suggestions?
