My fiance passed away Wednesday Oct, 15. I know it has only been a week but I dont know at times if Im coming or going. I am just dying of grief. I also have alot of guilt for not being there. I feel like my heart has been ripped from my chest. Everyone keeps telling me I have to move on but how do you do that when what was your whole world is gone?? My sister went through the exact same thing 3 years ago and she is a major help and i know ill be ok i just dont see how right now. How do you do it.

I am so very sorry for your loss. This is all so new for you and the pain is seemingly unbearable in the beginning. Allow yourself to feel whatever you feel and try not to feel pressured. Others say things about moving on but your grief is your own. I do not think that there is a process of "moving on", but rather it is something that simply happens. At this point just getting out of bed, dressed and basic things is so very hard. In time the grief is not so overwhelming but for now just be gentle with you. ((((hugs))))

Karen, I'm so sorry for your loss. Everyone here knows the pain of losing a loved one and you are most welcome here. Your friends are wrong. You don't just move on. Grief is the most powerful emotion you will ever feel. You will eventually learn to live with the loss but that's in the future. Lean on your sister as much as possible. Allow yourself to feel whatever you feel. There is no timetable. Don't let anyone tell you you should be over it by a certain time. In fact there is no "over it". We are the sum of our experiences and losing loved ones molds who we are. If we cared about them then they left an influence on us. If you like books, I highly recommend "How to Go On Living When Someone You Love Dies", by Therese Rando. I've read 3 books on grief and this is the best so far. Again, my sincere condolences. Scott.

Anyone who tells you to "move on" after 3 weeks is an idiot, so don't listen to them. You will find some friends fall away. Stay close to your sister and remember grief has no time table.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
