Hi Everyone! I am new to expressing grief (period). I recently experienced the loss of my estranged father. I had only seen him 3xs throughout my of 30 years of life. He passed away on Superbowl Weekend. We were trying to establish a decent foundation of a relationship as father-daughter now that he was no longer/somewhat bothered by his unhealthy choices. This grief has affected me like no other. I am in grad school studying mental health to be a therapist and thought I had all the answers being as though I am training in mental health. I was wrong...so wrong. This grief has affected me. I have been so sad and delayed my clinical experience and graduation until 2021. It has been a punishment from start to finish; I have never felt anything like this.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

I'm glad that you were able to spend some good time together..... A RL bereavement group might be a good support for you
Do you mind writing what his "unhealthy choices' were.... The reason that I ask is if it's something like an addiction a group like Al anon or Nar Anon might really help you
A group like Al anon or Nar anon might be a real help to you.... It's free and I've seen 12 step groups help people here on the PTSD board that suffer from complex trauma a great deal.....
Another hug.....xo
