I am writing this column late but this is something that I have noticed.People are not noticing it now..but I have and it is getting common.Has anyone noticed that people dont talk to one another anymore? If you go to a hair salon,or a store..the associates stand around and they just dont talk. Can anyone tell me why? I will tell you why I am concerned. In 1983,a young girl was shot and killed in a bank in New York. The husband shot her, injured the guard and turned the gun on himself. And when this happened,I do remember her working in the back of me.I do remember the bruises on her face and arms and the sunglasses that she wore to work. She was very quiet and she never talked.Noone got a word out of her. Why? Why do people teach their children not to talk and speak up? Has anyone really noticed lately that when a tragedy does strike the neighbors tell Katie Couric"We didnt really know her/him." You live door to door and not say a word? Why are people just so scared and I have seen this on the bus.Even the bus driver when you give him the change he jumps like a mountain lion. Why? Now let me tell you this..In the 1960s that the conversatives are blaming for everything and that includes the economy and such..they were never at some of these parties. The parties were not drug taking nor did people have sex there. They talked and they talked to one another. What has happened? I noticed that peop-le just sit and you dont know what they are thi nking. And for all of you do you know what the opening line at the parties here the opening conversation line here in seattle and in New York is this.."What is your blood type?" and I am not fooling. How can anyone talk about this!Look my best friend is getting tiresome because all she does it talk about illnesses. We must have a new line of conversation and teach our men to talk also. And I have noticed even when I went to college this and guys please do not get mad at me..but have you noticed that all of the star athletes are never in class and they manage to pass all of the tests? Doesnt anyone think this is funny? What about the guys who are from a little town in Ohio and want something better? So lets start to talk and we must learn that not everyone is out to hurt us.It is a myth that serial killers lurch in the woods in seattle.I have lived here since 1995 and I havent met some of these creeps like on tv.Where do these women find them? Please let me know.Because I dont want anymore creeps to be in my life as of now because Brad is on medical leave and we may have to move soon and I wont and cant fall apart for anyone so I will go because Tuffy is meowing.I had to go to the bank today it is on the verge of failure and i had to be sure about my money.Vader and the cats. There is a book that Joan Rivers wrote It is titled Can we Talk?

Studies have shown that the more people use electronics to communicate, the less they do on a personal level. Testing and E-mails are sadly preferred to interaction. This is dangerous and sad. One day, at this rate, no one will remember how to talk to one another. So sad. Sending huggs, Rainbow

this is a good point. where I am from, we talk more, for example to the person who you are buying your gas from and that is one of the few things I like about living here. People are just not connecting on deep levels anymore. everything is about what is on the surface.

I agree! It is all a fact, and so very sad. People not talking is exactky why I have no idea why my son crashed, and no idea why 2 people left him trapped in his seat upside down in a pond to die. And seems the legal system is either very forgiving, eyes closed, or just dont care. Well you could probably also add crooked to that. But none the less, myself and my family, wonder every day why 2 boys left him to be found 9 hours later, car frozen into the pond still in his seat belt. It is a parents worst night mare. When there child doesnt come home and you know something feels horribly wrong. Then a sherrif deputy is knocking on your door. Asking you about your childs name and vehicle. Then telling you that unfortunatly he was found in a pond still beltted in his seat deceased. Why doesnt anyone see enough wrong with this that they would open up and tell someone what they know. I know there are people out there that know things, two 15 year old young men are not, not going to tell soomeone about what happened. At that age they would either be scared to the point of talking or bragging to a friend about how they did things so how many know something and just arnt saying? Who knows, but the right people sure don't get that privlage he was our son. Sorry if i vented on ya there vader but you hit things right on the nose for me so i guess you drew it out lol so to speak. But im not afraid to talk. I yelled loud enough that i got a law changed after all this with my son. And personally I wish more people would get brave or mad enough to start speaking up much more than we do. Who will ever be there to protect our future generations?
