It has been a chaotic week for me because it was my birthday.I didnt celebrate like I normally do because the big one is next year.2009 is when I come of age..I will be 62.And in March of 2009..I am putting in for my retirement. But on the 1st of November will be the day that changed my life forever. It will be 21 years that my sainted father died.I was 40 when I lost dad and there has been a wound in my heart that has never healed. My father didnt live to see me almost cured of this mental illlness and to see me well on this medication. He never lived to see it.And I am angry. My father wasnt like some fathers of the 1960s..he let me play my rock and roll.He also liked Elvis Presley and he had a favorite song.it was My Way.Noone knows the emotions that come to mind when I hear this song.Noone sees me cry and my new doctor..he doesnt see my pain. And I will admit this...I am living in a loneliness. It is cruel. It is also dammanble.ANd this loneliness just hasnt ended.WIll it ever end? Will I ever feel whole again? Or am I just a freak of human nature destined to a live of total unhappiness?

I hear you. If I ever get married and have kids my dear sweet mother will not be here to see it. She was so nice (even the nurses in the hospital thought so)and would have loved to be a grandma.

it has been 2 and a half years since my dad died and 58 days since my boyfriend accidentally shaot himself in the head in front of me. I miss them both. I don't know if the pain or longing ever go away, but I try to live each day to the fullest for them now, because I know that is what they would want. happy birthday, find favorite songs and write alot. I also went to borders and found some very good grieving meditation books as well. The day has come for all of us , and the choices we make each day to live are hard, but can be rewarding if we think positive, i know everytim i talk positivly about clint, i swear sometime that day i see a rianbow. Physically they may not be here to hug, but spritually they are in our hearts and souls guiding us threw the rough edges.

Thanks to all of you who have replied. But there is one thing that I have learned and I will say it..you never get over the death of a parent or brother. It is a private hell that just goes on forever.

Does loneliness end? I'm asking that myself. I've lost Mom and now Dad is very sick and in the hospital. I'm all alone for the first time and it's just awful. There's no way to truly describe it. I feel like you. I come to this site because it's the only place where others understand what it's like.
