I am new to this post but I need a place to vent. My younger brother died a couple years ago I believe his girlfriend had a part in it. I received a call one night telling me my brother who I helped raise was in the hospital due to a drug overdose. By the time paramedics were called and got his heart going so to much time had passed. They wanted to take him off life support and I needed to get their ASAP. I live in WI he was in FL. When I arrived he was barely recogonizable. I was told he had been suffering chest pains that went down his arm. Instead of calling for help his girlfriend ( druguser) she kept giving him Vicodin for pain which then exploded his heart! The doctors said he could never recover is heart stopped the blood flow for too long. After much discussion with doctors and the whole family we decided to take him off life support. This was happening at the same time as the Terry Schiavo case was blowing up. His girlfriend along with a distant relative went to court and filed an injunction to stop it. She then terrorized the hospital with threats and demands to where they discharged him to the most horrble nursing home I ever saw! He had no insurance. Since in was in a vegatative state I was able to get him SSI. We then went to many court appearances fighting this person, the distant relative moved away. WE finally got him into a nice nursing home. His liver was falling apart into a bag kidneys shutting down. It was the cruelist thing I've ever seen. WE went through this for 5 months. And the judge we had was a friend of this so called girlfriends family and we were trapped. It was all over the news down their. Every court appearance the media and right to lifers were like vultures outside the court room steps. His body finally gave out after 5 months. But the anger I still feel is so great. The police in Fl said it was not illegal to give someone else perscription medications. My family till this day is stilling paying for the legal expenses. Not to mention For leaving our jobs to be their. She also tried to take his house property and vehicles although unsuccessfully with the help of more lawyers. It's like we were not allowed to grieve for the little brother I loved so very much. I think of him every day. I miss him. Maybe I'm feeling the sadness so much now cause I am getting over the anger I don't know. I think I'm glad to find a place to express myself all by myself in front of the computor

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I am sorry for your loss.
you are right, you have been through the anger stage.
I highly recommend a book called
On Grief and Grieiving by Elizabeth Kubler Ross and David Kessler. it explains what we go through and why. my loss is so different to yours as my mum was sick and it was expected, but I am still grieiving and this book helped immensely. Writing is of great comfort too. Let it all out. That is what DS is all about!
Take care
