My sister and i still dont want to accept the fact that our dad is gone, and it will be a year in January since he passed away. I never knew him so it still feels like he is still out there somewhere waiting to meet me, but i know he is gone...as for my sister, she doesn't feel ready to realise he is gone, but i think it is slowly getting to her as she is becoming more distant from me and is using a pic of her and him as a dp on a site...so hun, your not alone.
My 2 sisters and I are going Thursday to put Christmas flowers on hers and dads grave then go out to lunch. Dad passed in 1999 and every year we would do this but mom was with us.
Your not alone in your feelings, as you can see with all the replies you have gotten. Take this holiday season one day at a time, it's not easy. I am going to try my best when I start thinking about her to think about the good times and not the end.
yeah it sucks...i hope that someday the ropes around my heart will loosen
peace
It appears we're 'normal' for the situation...unfortunately.

I too lost my Mom 4yrs ago to cancer. I really don't think you will ever think she is really gone. So many things will remind you of her and you yourself are a big part of her in your actions and personna. Something you want to share with her will come up and you will want to tell her, ringing of the phone, someone might look like her at first glance. All these things and many more can happen. I think it is a part of the internal process we go through, To this day I still think tons of times daily about my Mom and I am sure you will too. Memories are the greatest you will see, they keep you sane down the road. If you ever need an ear I am a good listener.
