It's been 1 month since my brother died and a couple months prior to that when my father died. I never thought that I could feel worse than after the funerals, but boy was I wrong.
It's always been my experience with things, that when things are bad they always get slowly better. This is NOT so with grieving. After the funerals, I was feeling terrible, then started to feel better, then worse, then better, and then these last several days have been the worst of all.
I did not want to do this, but I have decided to discuss the possibility with my doctor of anti-depressants. Has anyone had positive (or negative) advice they might want to share regarding this and how it helped them to deal with their grieving? I know nothing will take away the pain, but I'm looking for a way to try and get back to some kind of "normal" for me and my family.
Thanks.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Good luck... (((HUGS)))
As M2M said, there are time when you feel ok and then other times it comes at you like a tidal wave. Sometimes it;s in a song, a thought, a color, a place, whatever. Sometimes there are those who use antidepressants to help cope but it takes 2 weeks to a month for these to really show any affect. I found that talking about my son, his life, his qualities, etc. helped me the most, Each of us are different and we grieve at different levels and different lengths. I am here if you need me.
