I just recently visited their birthplace and houses they grew up in and visited old cemeteries that their families rest in. I talked to many who knew them as children and young adults and the more I learned and saw, the more at peace I felt that they had lead a full and happy life.
They grew up in tough times, but good times came and they lasted. And they were grateful of that. They lived a long and full life. I don't know if you can do that or not, but it seemed to help me.
Grief comes in waves though, so it is all up and down. But doing these things gave me some peace. It sounds like your mom lived a long and blessed life. And she had you! Hugs and Love
I talk to them. I remember my mother telling me about her mother, who in 1920 lost three of her young children, 3, 6 and 8 in two days of each other. I asked my mom, how in the world did she deal with that? And my mom said, that she said, "Oh, they are still around." She must have felt them too.
We visited all their graves and I made arrangements to have the stones cleaned and repaired. I fell really good that I am taking care of things down here for all of them.
May God Bless you and give you some peace.
