It's good that you have your children with you for that added push. They want to celebrate you too. I have kids but they are older and 7000miles away.
I hope your children make you feel celebrated like you celebrated your mom.
I will be getting her flowers to remember her on this day.
I hope that you have a good mother's day and continue to honor your mom.
Does anybody have any ideas for what I could do to honor my mother with her not being here? Honestly, it would be for my dad, since it will be his first Mother's day without his wife / mother of his children. I almost think not acknowledging Mother's Day would be best. I don't like this stupid holiday anymore because it's a slap in the face to all who have recently lost their mothers. I feel like mashing all of the mother's day cakes at the grocery store.
I've decided to give myself a "pass" to cry if I feel like it. I think I'll always miss my mom, especially as I get older and learn more and more about those things she tried to teach me, but I didn't understand until I started having more life experiences. In a way I feel like she's kind of with me as I keep learning from her example and teachings as I walk through life's journey. Of course life goes on and regular days have become easier and easier, but I think Mother's Day will always be tough for me and I will never look at the special day the same again.
((hugs)) during this time and know the pain of losing your mom is confirmation of how much amazing love you shared.
