Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask this on but is the nearest I could find to it as I already suffer nightly bedwetting as well as poor day control as well, but very worried over the last few nights if I'm losing even more control and asking if anyone has had anything similar.
All my issues are caused by nerve damage from a back injury and very bad damage to my urethra and pelvic muscles all from being hit by a car when I was young. I have limited control during the day (currently using pull-ups) but no control at all at night or whenever I fall asleep so have to wear a diaper/nappy every night, and can't remember the last time I didn't need it.
Four nights ago while I was asleep I lost bowel control and only woke up after it happened. It's worrying me because I didn't wake up because I needed to go and just didn't get to the bathroom in time, but after it happened and it was the feeling of it in the nappy that woke me up. The following night it happened again, not as much as the previous night, but it worrries me as I'm not sure when it happened compared to when I woke up. Two nights ago I was okay but the same happened again last night.
Years ago I remember the doctor saying that the spinal damage effected how my brain communicated down there and while it seemed limited to my bladder there was a worry if it developed elsewhere. In all the years Ive only had bowel issues a few times but they were when I was ill or very rundown, as having 3 in 4 nights is very worrying to me especially as I'm not ill or anything.
Has anyone had anything like this, or can try and put my mind at rest? I always worry anxiety gives you exactly what it is you fear and don't want to go down that road. I was due another checkup with the doctor soon but it's been put on hold due to the virus.
Please, any words of comfort really appreciated.

Hello everyone IAM back in the mental health unit at hospital I've been sectioned under the mental health act for my own safety my daughter as been taken into care

It’s bad enough wetting all the time but I deal with it, but I can’t handle anything like last week if that was to become regular.
Like you, through injury and following multiple spinal surgery, I have no control at night or when asleep and also have poor day time control particularly if my back pain get really bad. I use the TENA Slip Active Fit adult nappies day and night. I have also had similar loss of bowel control as 'one off' occurrences, so not regularly. It was an awful experience and so I feel for you. I am glad that you saw your doctor and that things are now better.
Thanks ever so much for your comments, I can’t tell you how reassuring they are. To know you have similar issues for similar reasons gives me hope that my loss of control is also a one off occurrence. It hasn’t happened again so it’s been just over two weeks now but I’m still nervous what m going to find when I wake up. I’ve learnt to deal with little to no bladder control, but can’t face regularly going through that again.
