Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

Hi all,
I was doing some research for my 16 year old son on the internet and came across this site. After looking through some of the discussions, I was encouraged how helpful and welcoming the members on this site seemed to be. I am hoping to get some advice regarding my son who struggled with primary nocturnal enuresis. This was a great source of shame and embarrassment for him especially as he got into high school. As you can imagine, a huge burden was lifted when he finally gained nighttime control of his bladder just after his 15th birthday. I could just tell how proud he was when he quietly came to me one day and told me that I didn't need to buy any pull-ups for him because he had been dry for over a month. I watched as his confidence grew and he began almost a different kid. Over the past two months I have noticed that he has started to wet the bed again. I cannot think of anything in his life that would cause this. One morning I found him in laundry room at 5am desperately trying to wash his sheets and blankets. When I confronted him about it, he said he was just really sweaty and wanted to wash his clothes. It breaks my heart because I know how disappointed and frustrated he must be. I do not know how to bring this up to him again because the last thing I want to do is embarrass him even more. I just do not know what to do so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

My folks used to talk about my bedwetting to other realatives as if I were not there.

Folks talking about bedwetting to others. That would be really embarrassing. I think my parents did it, but never in front of me. I say that because any house I ever slept over at, would remarkably have a rubber or plastic sheet on the bed. so I figure my Mom called ahead. The other moms, though, were very discrete and nothing was ever said, even when I left a wet bed in the morning.

Oh yes, iampadded, the amazing "bush telegraph" I soon got in the habit of checking the bed on arrival - to find the rubber's already there.

Yes it was the same with me all my family knew I wet the bed so if I was staying at someones house the bed was almost always already protected.

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...
