Hello everyone. I’m Jessica, mom of 3 kids. 3 year old son (our surprise baby), 9 year old daughter, and 12 year old son. My 12 year old has wet his bed off and on since he was a baby, but he has not had an accident in over a year. I really thought this was behind us. The last 2 weeks he has wet his bed 7 times and the last 4 nights in a row. What bothers me is he doesn’t seem to care. He would not say anything about having an accident and when I smelled the pee smell in his room and investigated I found his bed wet, and wet underwear in the hamper. I didn’t say anything at first thinking he was just embarrassed about it. After the 3rd night I put a goodnites pull up on his bed and just told him I left something on his bed he needs to wear that night. Didn’t say what it was again trying to conserve his possible embarrassment. Well low and behold the next morning he wakes up and comes to the living room before changing out of his obviously wet pull up and just sits on the couch watching tv. When I see him I tell him he needs to go change and he just says ok he will in a minute. He has continued to do this every morning the last 3 mornings and his goodnites leaks so his bed is still wet and now he is sitting on the couch getting pee on the couch. I have gotten on to him not about the wetting but not changing as soon as he gets up and for getting the couch wet too. I’m just at a loss. Also considerering going to a youth diaper as I hear they don’t leak nearly as bad. Sorry for rambling on so long. Just hoping to talk to others about the situation and hope to find some suggestions and support.
