Sorry going through similar with mine as well

Is he showing signs of regression? We took a foster parenting class for a 17 y.o. daughter. The instrictor told us that the emotional developnent cycles every 10 years. So our 17 y.o. was 7 emotionally, due to things like imminent HS graduation and all the other teen angst. So would need mommy and daddy like a 7 y.o. could your 12 y.o. be feeling 2 years old?

I really don’t think he is regressing. He has always had issues off and on with bedwetting. And he has never been bashful about his pull ups. I just thought he would be getting out of that. He does love playing with his little brother and is so good with him but I don’t think regressing.

Mike, I guess that is a possibility I need to consider. He is such a outgoing happy go lucky kid I don’t really see that but I will watch for this. Thank you.

His pull up leaked again last night and again this morning he came to the living room before changing. At least he sat on the floor instead of the couch. I’m hoping to find something better locally today. Any suggestions on a youth diaper that will hold more than a goodnites pull up? He is in boys size 10 slim fit cloths.

Mike do you think it’s often done for attention? I’m trying to figure it out with my son too.

Yep, same here. I’m going to make sure I spend some extra time with him and see if anything changes. Headed to the store to see if I can find some diapers that will fit.

Thank y’all for all your support. I really appreciate it. I was able to find some diapers called Abena Junior at a medical supply store. Have any of you used them? The guy said they don’t get many complaints and have lots of return customers that buy them. He said it’s a lot of bed wetters and some disabled kids. I hope they work.

I’m not sure how to handle the evening routine. Our normal routine is he puts on his pull up right after his bath but then he is able to go to the restroom again right before bed. If he has a diaper on I don’t think he will be able to pull it down to go. I could wait to put it on till right as he is getting in bed I guess. He sometimes falls asleep before bed time though. Guess I could just wake him up. Any suggestions? I’m also hoping he doesn’t throw a fit. He hasn’t worn an actual diaper since he was 4.

Hugs to you Jessica. This hits close to home for me as I have 2 boys who wet the bed. They are 7 and 10. We also tried different brands of pull ups and they all leaked. So my youngest is in size 7 diapers and my oldest is also in the Juniors. They have worked amazing for my son. I think you will be very happy. I diaper my boys after there bath and if they are wet at bed time I just change them. It’s not ideal but my boys fall asleep early sometimes and will wet on the couch and I don’t want that. Maybe you could diaper him after his bath and then if he needs to go you could just re diaper him after he uses the restroom. The tabs can be redone more than once. Let us know how it goes.

Well it went ok. The boys took there bath together as they normally do and I sat in the bathroom with them, it was nice to watch them play. Beth, my daughter got Ethan, my 3 year old, out of the tub and took him to get his diaper on I helped Jacob wash which I haven’t done in a while and he seemed to enjoy it. And we talked. Started off just talking about friends and stuff. Then I mentioned his bed wetting as I was drying him off and said his pull ups have been leaking every night. He agreed and said it was not fun waking up wet. I said I have something to fix that. I could tell he was a little nervous and said what. And I said a big kid diaper specially for big kids who still wet the bed. He said he didn’t want a diaper. But I was firm in saying we were going to try them because we couldn’t keep washing his sheets every day and he couldn’t keep getting pee on the couch and carpet in the morning when he comes to watch tv. He reluctantly but agreed to try it. I tried to put it on him with him standing up but that was a disaster. The floor was wet from them splashing so I asked him if he wanted to go to his room and he said yes. So I had him lay on his bed and put it on. I gave him a really big hug and told him I was super proud of him for being a brave big boy and not making a big fuss about it. Helped him get his shirt on and told him he could go watch tv. He did but I noticed he keeps pulling his shirt down to try to hide the diaper. I’m very relieved it went ok. I snuggled up to him on the couch and we are sitting together under a blanket watching a little tv. Thank y’all so much for your help and advice. Really big hugs to you all.
