Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Hi - I was wondering if I could get some help and ideas here. We have a five year old daughter (she turns six this month). She still wets the bed, which isn't a big deal, but she's been leaking out of her goodnites about half the time for the last month and I'm getting fed up with the extra laundry. Based on some posts here it looks like some parents use diapers. I'm not sure how well that suggestion would go over - it was a big deal for her when we switched from diapers to pull-ups at night when she was potty trained, and again when we switched to goodnites because they're for "big kids." We might be able to convince her to give it a try, but are the any other ideas people have?

They shipped just in diaper box, so she saw them as soon as they arrived. She wasn't very happy once she saw them, but I convinced her to at least let me open up the package and look at one. She was curious about it, and I was able to get her to try one on right then. It fit great. She was a little embarrassed about wearing a diaper at first (but also curious about it and said it was comfortable), but got used to it after about 15 minutes or so. She kept it on for a couple hours until she had to use the potty, then I took it off.
When it was time to get her PJs on I got a diaper out for her instead of a goodnite, and she didn't say anything when she saw it. After that it was the usual bedtime routine. Her bed was dry in the morning, which was great, and it has been since we switched back to diapers.
Overall this went much better than I expected - I only wish I had done it sooner.

When I started leaking through my Goodnites I did not have a choice to start wearing diapers. Understand that diapers have a stigma of being a baby. Later on started wearing Abena pull-ups and these didn't leak no matter how much I tossed and turned. I would check out Abena pull-ups for daughter. These are like diapers with pull-up sides.
